@IceWolf @janusfox "The internet it's self isn't the problem" Specifically, in and of it's self, no. But I disagree with the thought that internet addiction isn't a thing. If you can't function without the internet, to the point you can't function as a human being without it. Which I have unfortunately seen. that's a real problem.
As far as all your firends being online, get the actual phone numbers or addresses for the people you're the closest to. write letters, send photos. It can be really nice to receive something hand written instead of just another text message. And that way if the internet isn't available you have a way to stay in touch.
It's also a good idea to know how to do things without the web as we live in a world where the internet is getting more and more unusable. Investigate the small web, invest time in offline things. I don't think most people realize just how flimsy the infrastructure that holds the web up is, or just how close we are all the time to it just being gone. If you can't function without it, it's a really good idea to learn how before you have to.
I'm not sayin this in a "touch grass" way, I'm saying it in a "when the shit hits the fan, you want to be able to function" way.

@xoagray @janusfox can't function as a human being I don't want to function as a human being. You're talking to a wolf, thank you. Also if the internet is down, why d'you think the phone system would still be up? They're both core services at this point, hell, phones are mostly VoIP these days. You're talking like other points of contact are More Real than the internet. They are not. "oh, you need to be able to function without electricity! you're Addicted To Electricity!"
