@Huburt_Pewder first- be careful who you accept advice from. second- learn the figure from first principals, then you can scale down the proportions to kid sized as needed. Michael Hampton's book is good, and if you need something more guided, Love Life Drawing on youtube has a competitively priced course. Then draw the figure 1 million times without expectation.

@lolipope One million is generous, but 'with no expectations' is an excellent modifier. After countless hours of study I rarely expect to see progress anymore. Even when I was young and practicing every day, progress has never been visible. Art is a slooooooow burn.
