The ability of suburban possums to balance perfectly on overhead wires will never not be impressive. This furry fellow just stared at me, completely motionless, while I walked up and took their picture.

@spacelizard I agree. How they balance on such a relatively small diameter cable is impressive. For some reason, the power feed to our house from the pole across the road was the path of choice. They would then run across the roof, down the backstairs and on to wherever they were going. Sometimes I would see them crossing upside down, so I guess they weren’t always so sure footed!

@spacelizard Our local one uses a very similar 20m long overhead powerline to get onto our roof for late night "frolicking". It takes more than 30 seconds of direct, focused hosing to get it to stop staring and move on, even in middle of winter!!
