@mralancooper There's a somewhat similar difference between frontier capitalism and modern urban capitalism, as well, btw. Frontier capitalism used "if you have nothing to eat, you can go in the wilderness and hunt down some tasty animals" as a safety valve for certain kinds of failings of capitalism. But in contexts where all the available wilderness havsbeen successfully enclosed (or most of the tasty animals in it have already been eaten), it ceases being a functional failback mechanism, even though it's popular among some crappy politicians to pretend otherwise.
