@fbarton Research is finallay picking up the pace. I remember someone ~9 yrs ago. He could never answer a question without grabbing his phone. Even simple things; he would search for the answer. This was the worst example. Offloading is a serious problem. I am used to storing & saving on the laptop, this also causes problems; I can't remember them because I didn't need to. I think switching between offloading and using your memory might become a massive new therapy. @NineStonesClose @scalzi

@pascaline @NineStonesClose @scalzi that's part of it... but at the same time, Education hasn't kept pace. There is value in knowing things, but there is also value in knowing how to find information. the flip side of this is that it is much easier to know how to use the information if you already know it. (and it is much easier to assess if you know something than if you know how to use it) there is so much more information out there than you can expect a professional to memorize (take a pharmacist for example... you can't expect them to know everything about every medication possible, but you do expect them to know a lot about some common ones, and to know where to get information about all of them, and what the information means. you also expect them to know how to check a prescription against baseline expectations on dosing)
