@EscapeFromBriarwoodHospital can you be more specific which of the cellular automata patterns have you observed on film and which film stocks they were on?
Cracking emulsion, vinegar syndrome and any other regular film degradation that has been documented is not what I have here.

@nosfe Honestly, it's been years since I've been eyeing lots of film. I've seen all sorts of patterns, degradation or no. My recommendation is to ask the experts...lots of archivists and film chemistry nerds hang out on the Frameworks experimental film mailing list...that would be the place to ask https://mail.film-gallery.org/mailman/listinfo/frameworks_film-gallery.org

@nosfe Ah, btw, the stocks were mostly consumer formats, since that was our business. So color and black and white reversal...a lot of kodachrome and ektachrome.
