@kissane I was never a fan of defederating out of principle, yet it might soften the blow if there are some gateway instances (the bigger ones) that smaller ones can hide behind. Given how easy it is to have multiple accounts, it’s not a huge problem to have a different account from which to interact with threads. But contra claims to defederate totally this would mean to keep the connection to other (non threads, non alt right) instances and not fight their decision.
