*enforcement* of existing consumer protection and anti-monopoly laws would do wonders(or tax, wage and hour, vehicle and many others). We actually have some pretty decent laws, they have either been deliberately underfunded, avoided per lobby or overruled by appointed activist judges. Pretty much the only way out is fire and force it seems, as history shows.
