Speaking to a close Danish friends about how much people use calendars here in DK. My summary of "before I came here, I just didn't bother to keep a calendar for social events" caused them to literally grasp at their chest in horror.

My rational of "if it was important, I'll remember it at some point" is apparently not accepted. (Otherwise I can always forget things. Like a cool person)
