Naw I mean on its own this is gonna go away. Because the Catholic right are winger theocratic fascists and so is the Evangelical right. But again - if Trump and the fundies keep doubling down, I dunno that this is negotiable. There are not a lot of "rules" most Catholics won't break but straight up blasphemous idolatry - casting yourself as Jesus the Messiah, is probably one of them. Arguing with the Pope certainly ain't good either; ignoring him was an option too.
