It's a mandate for expanding the rail network and bringing back reliable and cheap freight operations, if government would only have the sense to see it as such.

@brad @psneeze @ccferrie State owned rail, bus and road freight (CIE) wasn't a bad idea, but having them in one org was bad, and badly done. Rail puts on services at times no-one wants and then cancels due to lack of demand. Foynes line to be reopened, but closed because it was freight only and freight was terribly organised. Ghastly road routes. No rail to Shannon. No rail in North-West. No food, no drink & not enough seats on early morning Limerick-Dublin.
