@ansate I like and use magic loop. Less hassle than dpns and safer too - when resting just slide the whole shebang on the cable and feel secure. Main trick is to find a circular which is elastic enough - so not my beloved chiaogoo red with the wire, but rather the clear plastic cables. Next to find out a sufficient length for the cable. E.g.
