@static In one sense, that already happens -- supermarket fuel vouchers are a style of that, aren't they?
There are some regional councils that do have some destination chargers in place -- I recall using one in Albury a little while back -- but I suspect a lot of the pressure there is for more fast charging subsidised infrastructure, which of course costs more and takes longer to roll out...

@alexkidman I'd forgotten fuel discount vouchers still exist... Good on Albury! But I was thinking of some progressive inner-suburban council, such as Marrickville, for instance. That'd put pressure on neighbouring councils to do the same! It would also help teach people how destination charging works. I might be being too idealistic. I don't drive anywhere near as much as you, but have had an EV nearly as long. :) But I also live near a train station. So my car has done just 25,000 kms in 6 years...
