Fun, the new Wikimedia API limits; rate limits authentication, and rate limit checks meaning if authentication expires good luck getting your higher limits back.

If you use a tool like OpenRefine, Pattypan or similar be nice to volunteers, it's the Wikimedia Foundation trying to sell Wikimedia Enterprise. https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Wikimedia_APIs/Rate_limits
