I'm thinking that perhaps a hosted NextCloud installation might be useful?

@nopatience I have my own Nextcloud instance hosted in my basement. It’s Talk module has the Chat/Video features. File sharing is baked in, and calendars app available as well. Seems to work well from my single user uses, I’m sure it would work well for a small team.
