@707Kat @jpoesen I would love to volunteer to help people in this way. The problem is a lack of demand. I don't hear about a lot of people who aren't already technically savvy about this stuff who are interested in moving away from big tech. Usually the reaction I see is "why would I care about that?"

    @skysong @707Kat @jpoesen For me it is happening slowly. I talk about this topic regularly in my circles, but it took a while for even the politically more concious people to take a step. Now some of them are slowly changing services and networks - two or three years after talking about it the first time. Sometimes change takes a while :)

    @skysong@floss.social Increasingly more people are looking for help with it, they just don't know where to go and start. With what Microsoft is promising for Windows 12 (modular with even more AI and cloud services), I'm almost certain that demand will continue to rise. Try checking out https://endof10.org/ for local activities near you. Points of convincing: - Their laptop not being able to upgrade to Win 11-12 - Everything is turning into subscription services - Microsoft forcing cloud/online - Etc.
