Today I learned a new word in Icelandic 🇮🇸 :
Gervigreindardrulla
I was able understand it by just breaking it into its pieces gervi, greind and drulla:
Artificial Intelligence Shit

@FlohEinstein@chaos.social The Faeroese use the word "vitlíki" for AI, composed of "vit" = knowledge and "líki" = similar to or a substitute of. In Icelandic "smjörlíki" = margarine and "bjórlíki" was a dreadful mixture supposed to imitate beer, so the "líki" part has plenty of negative/diminutive resonance. Thus "vitlíki" is something that tries to imitate proper intelligence, but falls short of its goal.
