While these aren't my favorite displays, I have to admit that they are interesting: each character is made up of many segments of various shapes, and each cell in the 5×3 matrix has unique shapes, visible on the second image.
These examples are used on lines 2 and 3a of the #Paris #tram network.
Do these displays have a name, by the way? I'd love to know.
(UPDATE: Got my answer; see replies.)

@x0r@mamot.fr @HaTetsu@mastodon.com.pl Looks like Muni’s Breda signs! Look into Trans-Lite Inc and Teknoware. More here from Emily Sneddon, who made it into a font! https://emilysneddon.com/fran-sans-essay

@x0r@mamot.fr could be an AEG Geavision / AEG Geascript display... @cato@chaosfurs.social what do you say? It's all just squares but they are sliced into two triangles.

@x0r@mamot.fr I miss them. Replaced by inefficient LCD displays all around…

@x0r@mamot.fr some years before, I draw a font I name « 7×4 Rationnal Squar Script » http://taniere.info/art/typo/7x4RSS/ according to something like that. But now, I want to draw a new font based on this display.
