@coderanger I do have what I think is a viable model for this, but piggybacking on SSI that you first build out relationships on for social networking, like a truly decentralized, instanceless version of the fediverse.
As for the immediate problem, we pin back and plan to phase out whatever dependencies are accepting slop.

@dalias @coderanger at this point, the entire linux graphics stack, which is also used in part on the BSDs, is compromised (mesa accepts AI generated contributions, the harfbuzz developer went all in on "vibe coding", gstreamer has AI commits, etc.). I don't think these dependencies can be replaced short- to mid-term, unfortunately
