@joshavanier @neauoire Your situation is quite similar to mine, having/had a lot of common struggles in 2025. I think you got to do what you would care to do regardless of money, regardless of trends. This is the way to "win" no matter what. Trying to brute force an artistic career messed with my brain so much. Programming is still interesting if you don't listen to the AI hype. "Old" tech and media are still cools. In the age of social media BS, making fanzines is a welcome respite. (btw I love what you're doing with your common place notebook and watercolors). At the same time, the job market for engineers at the moment is terrible. I'm still trying to find a good enough client that is not just shouting AI with foam in the mouth...
