Hadn't StackOverflow already provided the original dung heap? On a more serious note - although Maxwell's demon is impossible, technology has produced an approximation (heat pumps) that is 3x more efficient than brute force (electric resistance heating) ... so, it's possible that an "AI" could sift through a good codebase and extract useful nuggets isn't completely crazy. For some definition of "good codebase", of course. @brouhaha @mhoye @dabeaz
