@jmeowmeow @mhoye part of the approach of "wise interventions," "wise to specific underlying psychological processes that contribute to social problems or prevent people from flourishing" (Walton, 2014), coined by Claude Steele (another v famous psychologist) re work w/minoritized students, who was influenced by his civil rights era childhood & took term from the gay community of the 50s who used "wise" to describe straight people who were capable of seeing their full humanity despite the era
