@operand @ives @mhoye True, but the assertion was that a cat with a single SD card in its mouth would be higher bandwidth than a station wagon full of tapes. Which is patently not true, even using your calculations.

@ErgonWolf @operand @mhoye You're totally right when you talk about modern tapes. I explicitely wrote 'old tapes' to refer to the original quote made by Andrew Tanenbaum in the early 1980's.
