@jackdaniel glad other people are starting to notice this. the people spewing out AI stuff and assigning it a GPL license are clueless. the code isn't subject to copyright and thus can't be assigned a license. (code licenses rely on copyright.)

    @cancel Another angle to it is that LLMs are trained on copyrighted sources; and it is _very_ dubious whether the "fair use" wishful thinking will hold for long in various jurisdictions, because results of LLM directly compete, commercially, with authors of the source material. Some people say, that Microsoft _promised_ that it will help users to defend in courts had such cases emerged, and 1) we all know how ethical and trustworthy the company is and that it will keep its promises disregarding of the cost, 2) that doesn't render anything legal even when big entity backs you up.
