@greensofshade where I used to live in the US, cyclists were explicitly allowed to use sidewalks. Because the city knew that their cycling infrastructure was very incomplete but they still wanted to encourage cycling. In a city near to there, they banned cyclists on sidewalks. And they complained about cyclists clogging the car roads on their way to the mountain bike trails.

  • @smeg I'm a pedestrian. I prefer walking. I don't think the point of view on the tiny amount of space we pedestrians are allowed to walk safely doesn't need more explanation. If cyclists want to act like car people on two wheels, even when it's bad for others, there needs to be criticism 🤷🏻‍♀️
