Chicago has bike share called divvy bikes all over the city. Both electric and analog available.
The lakefront path has multiple daily rental vendors. Most of those are hourly or daily. There are a few shops that offer Long term rentals off the lakefront.
Many of the hotels have bikes available , check with where you're staying.
I would expect some Vrbo and Airbnb renters have bikes available.

@JoeHenzi @ymasumac @smeg There are multiple used bike shops, but they may or may not have your size. The most famous is a charity called Working Bikes (WB). WB specializes in getting bikes to needy kids. They let kids and teens work on donated bike to 'earn' a bike. WB sells refurbished bikes to the public for about 80% of their funding! You could buy a used bike at WB, write off the purchase and then donate it back when you leave as a charitable donation! 2/end
