Myself, my S.O., and our pup @Aila made a trip to Queen Elizabeth Park yesterday to do some flower bathing in the cherry blossoms. :da_love: It was lovely and soothing, so here, have some pics. 🌸 #AilaPup #DogsOfMastodon #FediverseDogs #Sheltie #ShetlandSheepdog #Bloomscrolling #Florespondence #Spring #CherryBlossoms #Sakura #Magnolias #Vancouver

Some of the more nerdy among you may recognize the Bloedel Conservatory in that magnolia photo from a couple Star Trek episodes, where it was used in matte paintings in a couple episodes for buildings in alien world backgrounds. Apparently Gene Roddenberry was very fond of it, thinking it looked very futuristic. :) I know for sure it was used in the Voyager episode "Blink of an Eye" where they become trapped in the atmosphere of a planet where time runs much faster than on Voyager, where they witness centuries of cultural development on the surface in the few days they're trapped. I think it was also used as a building in Risa in a TNG episode…? I may be wrong about that…
