@stonebear2 the apocryphal story is that originally Queen's day (Queen Juliana's birthday) on the 30th of April, was continued by the former Queen because it meant there were very few May day protest. Now King's day is on the 27th, there still aren't many May day protests

@stonebear2 There is this one from Amsterdam Museumplein to MLK Park, organised by the largest labour union, FNV, protesting the government plans for austerity and the like. It includes workshops and activities for children at the park: https://acties.todon.nl/event/dag-van-de-arbeid-demonstratie-tegen-het-regeerakkoord There will also be an anarchist block (see link at the top), which to me seems appropriate for May Day. May Day is not a bank holiday in the Netherlands, which may affect attendance.
