@volt4ire Third party builds of XChat were distributed instead, pissing off the author and ruining the entire business model

@feld That's annoying but I wouldn't say it dispositively ruins the business model, given eg Krita (and I'm sure multiple other FOSS projects) make thousands of dollars a year from paid Windows and macOS Store releases (especially given they still have gratis regular .exe and .app releases)
