I think what people often forget when discussing AI is that the thing is simply a computer program you run to get some output, not unlike git or tar. Unlike git and tar, which are highly reliable and useful programs, this unnamed program is highly unreliable and has questionable utility. Why are we all getting so riled up about a poorly-written computer program?
