Which is to say: My fretless bass now has Pyramid 648/1 black tapewound strings. The surface of the nylon tape is ground, not polished, and feels like fine woven fabric or sketch paper. It’s wonderfully tactile. I didn’t know the silk on the ends would be gold. It matches the spruce wood top.
