@mitsuhiko Weakening _the platform_ by reducing its copyright duration wouldn't help. In fact, it'd make it easier for someone to poison pill it by reducing the attack duration to ex: 2 years, at which point people wake up and realize they are reliant upon proprietary _parts_ of a platform, which they need to somehow unwind.
Moving away from "platform" and GPL makes less and less sense. It's nonsense for Entity A's goals. (3/3)

@mitsuhiko Of course all of this assumes "capitalism". If we lived in a utopia, then everything would be public domain and art could survive for hundreds of years, studied in future generations like Shakespeare. We wouldn't need to reconcile people who want closed-source with a society that wants ideas to be preserved forever.
