@samsteiner I don't have a direct answer to this question. On the big box media's I promoted my work heavily and gained a lot of clients this way. Coming to the fediverse has been jarring. I enjoy the discussions here and finding like minded people, but I don't honestly feel fully safe to promote my work. I repost my bakery videos, but with a CW which inherently limits the amount of people who will click in. It's more than selling cookies for me, all aspects of the videos are made by me, its a tiny showcase of my film, editing and music work, but it is also definitely an ad, an ad for the best cookies you'll find in Asia.
How can people find out about what we offer if we don't tell people?

@samsteiner it feels most like gatekeeping to tell people what they can and cannot post, when the mute or block button is truly effective for their personal timeline.

@MamaLake yes, that's the thing. I suspect most people in the #Fediverse would root for small businesses winning. But without them talking business. 😀 Forcing them to go and finance the billionaires' platforms.
