@paulfoerster @samsteiner @klyx I may not have made myself clear, I am not talking about adverts but rather posting about my work and/or seeking clients; also strongly against ads here.

@oscarfalcon @paulfoerster @samsteiner exactly what I meant too! No ads please. But posting about work and looking for clients or post about your projects would be fine. This is different than ads, as people can manage if they want to see/read these posts. Would also suggest a hashtag so people can mute it.

@oscarfalcon @samsteiner @klyx I'm not opposed to posting about your work, I’m against promoting your product. If you just talk about your field of work then that's perfectly fine with me and might even be interesting. But if you mention the product or a company name too often, then it might start to get annoying. After all, Mastodon is not about selling products. I found the word “social" actually still means something here and I'd like to keep this way.
