There's a lot of it-depends to it.
I've met plenty of people who were happy to practice/show off their English.
I've had colleagues who used English to speak to each other, because neither wanted to speak the other's language.
I've one friend who says they wouldn't know the right vocabulary to use their native language professionally.

@BenAveling @smeg If that was the case here the Original post wouldn't write French people really like to speak French and get miffed if you ask them to speak English. I speak english when I have to, I neither enjoy it, nor especially hate it, really it's just often the lowest common denominator, the easiest way to get things across..
