@silverpill @fedify All the great work you do on the FEP is a way to help mitigate it. And if one figures out wire reality and follows wire consensus, there's less pain. Follow the leaders who came before you. The trade-off is that your app on the wire looks a bit like a microblog. For those who are in that field there's no problem at all. And for those entering completely new fields, they can be 'first inventors' and also be unburdened. I was just referring to post-facto interoperability and the protocol decay it causes, plus the fact that there's no clear delineation what is protocol and what is app-specific solution development.
