@nikink I get the meme, but in reality American English would actually be closer to being traditional. The Brits had a lot of spelling, grammar, and terminology changes back in the late 1600s through early 1800s that the Americans never went through, and actively resisted by influential and wealthy men like Benjamin Franklin and Noah Webster.
Our English never got Samuel Johnson'd or rekt by francophillic spelling traditions popular with the scholars back then.
