TLDR: The tragedy of the commons is that they were privatized. So I guess it is relevant. If there’s a moral it has to be that putting up a satellite doesn’t mean you own the space it’s in. And maybe: it’s time to charge rent. #hashtagNeeded @dougmerritt @computersandblues @robpike

    @BenAveling @computersandblues @robpike I'm aware that "The Tragedy of the Commons" has been criticized and even claimed to have been disproven. I'm also aware, as most are not, that it's been pointed out that it was *not* disproven. Regardless of that, it very obviously is a good capsule description of Musk selfishly using up the "commons" of orbits, to the detriment of other current and potential uses & users.
