Typical case of too fast, too much in 1 go. First field research and only then gradually switch. I am a satisfied user of posteo.com and mailbox.org, supporter of the KISS system.
On linux I switched from thunderbird to betterbird, K9 mail on grapheneOs.
Onedrive replaced by filen.

Thanks for telling me about Betterbird. I see I can run it at the same time as Thunderbird which naturally fits my workflow described above 😅
