I looked into Jekyll and Hugo, ended up going the self-build route. Time will tell if it was the right decision.
I really wanted to like Ghost. However, the platform is very focused on subscribers, monetization, analytics and growth, writing craft seemed like an afterthought.

@RaffKarva to me was more of an easy choice because I work as a Ruby software engineer. What I really like is choosing DIY, we need more of this from anyone!
