@fullfathomfive A different perspective: the dyslexic, autistic and other folks who struggle to write for general audiences without "stuff in [the] computer" like spell and grammar checks in word processors are not incompetent.
By not considering these writers in such a take, we are reminded that exclusion and ableism can be perpetuated by quotes even from a darling like Le Guin

@TheDonsieLass She doesn't mention spell checkers. This is in a chapter on punctuation and grammar, and part of a larger paragraph where she's encouraging writers to develop their own style and not rely on what corporate software thinks is good sentence construction.
