Or in the time it takes to figure out how to do that, you could've grabbed a stock photo of the moon, grabbed a stock photo of a USAian dollar store, shoved 'em both in Inkscape, drawn a quick polygon, applied it as a mask, and exported it as a png. 'cos that's what I did.
