On OSX you should have VoiceOver built in. Depending on your settings, you should be able to toggle it on/off with either F5 or command-F5. It's impressively integrated/supported/usable.
On Android, you have TalkBack built in. It's usually toggled by holding the up-volume and down-volume buttons at the same time for 3 seconds.
In both cases, if the shortcut doesn't work, you might have to dig into your accessibility-settings to enable it (or enable the shortcut).
Unfortunately they each have distinct user-interactions, so I'd recommend learning one or the other deeply rather than trying to learn both concurrently. While I'm not an OSX fanboi, I suspect your experience will be smoother there since application developers there tend to be more respectful of accessibility than on Android. And having a full keyboard is a lot easier than attempting to do everything with a touch-screen.
