The soil is warming up quickly. 11°C-12°C up from 8°C a week ago. Water infiltration tests carried out on the growing beds have shown a couple of beds have issues. I wouldn’t have guessed the differences. Water infiltration results ranged from 3 mins 28 seconds (rye grass green manures) to 14 minutes 41 seconds (mulching compost) on a colder, shaded bed. The faster infiltration rates occurred on the green manured beds over the mulched beds.#Allotment #SoilHealth #Soil
