@hughsie I think a spinning character at the head of the progress bar makes sense (e.g. "| / — \"), but it would also be cool to see if some indication of 'what was mostly happening' was in a bracket at the head of the bar: [=====[wait device] ]

@hughsie IMHO Spinners are useless most of the time, AS thry just simulate actions (even if backderoundtask died). Numbers are cool IMHO but of course there is more: https://progressbar-2.readthedocs.io/en/latest/
