My response to this is to stubbornly stick to old ways of production, ways which are slower but which I have far more confidence in, both in terms of future maintainability, and in creating something people might actually care about. The process is part of the production, and you lose something when you breeze past it at 60mph on your way to the finish line
It also doesn’t require me to make my future productivity totally beholden to a big tech subscription, an independence which I value highly

But of course, I’m very fortunate to be able to make this kind of choice. I’m older, and gave up my trad career ages ago to ride the back roads. I was doing open source when that made people think you were a hippie (even more so than now). I should definitely be a Weird Linux Guy, and am certainly destined to arrive there eventually. So what do I know? All I know is that feeding coins into a code slot machine isn’t how I want to spend my time. If made to do that, I’d find something else to do
