Cycling infrastructure usually gets built in pieces, and eventually one day those pieces finally get connected. This project is a good example of where a missing piece can finally be added to create a connection, and a couple of new pieces can be added. Yet the City has opted to do neither.

The new connection would have linked the existing westbound cycle track on Carling near Saigon Court to this new protected intersection, which would have created a connection to the cycle tracks on Churchill Ave North. This would have also provided the benefit of removing the bus bay in the area. OC Transpo likes to remove the bays because buses are slowed down when they have to merge back into traffic.
