Convincing students that doing work is part of learning, that friction and work and difficulty are essential to learning is one thing. I’m sure many of my students recognise this. But having to figure out who is blatantly cheating by outsourcing this whole process to an LLM… is what makes grading nowadays so exhausting. One of many frustrating parts is that assignments that used to visibly stimulate students’ creativity and expand their thinking, are hit hardest by this. #llm #ai #teaching
