I've been using TurboTax since it was a DOS app, circa 1990.
Despite the issue of their interference with free tax software, I still think it's a phenomenal value, as long as you reject their optional data sharing, "partners", and MAX.
For about $250 and an hour of my time, it did its job.
Filling out the form without TT, unless I was still an EXEMPT student, would be 10 hours of hell I can't afford.

@jab01701mid There's apparently a few web-based apps that are a better value. I used H&R Block for years but switched this year and it was actually easier. I have a Schedule C business and it was cool. Either way the cost is worth it for the time!
