@henryk So you’re saying that this is the perfect project for streamlining feature development by maximizing the utilization of agentic AI in generating pull requests?

@fluepke@chaos.social 2026-04-17 18:46
@henryk there is no such thing as “responsible” disclosure. We really need to coin a new term for this. “Coordinated disclosure” won’t fly, since many companies will just sue you into oblivion uncoordinatedly. “Bootlicker disclosure” or “PR stunt disclosure” maybe. 🤔

@Lobnaser @henryk the verification itself is a form of exploitation since surveillance is the intent. That's why attempts to improve it will backfire, in the form of more people unwittingly accepting surveillance.

@Lobnaser @henryk are you a bot? Why did you repeat your message?

@Lobnaser @vex @henryk "risky ways" for this sort of personal information is "at all." If they have our government ID, that's a threat no matter how they store it. Because they'll eventually surrender it to a fascist government, along with all the data they collected about what we did. There's no way hackers or anyone without billions of dollars to throw around will be able to convince tech companies or lawmakers not to restrict our freedom on the internet and collect all our information

@henryk I advocate reading the birthdate from a simple text file in the home directory.

@atjn@mastodon.online 2026-04-17 19:27
@henryk It doesn't even need to be out of spite. There are so many amazing projects out there that need help. So don't spend your time on this thing.

@henryk Thank you! The people saying "oh look how amateurish this software is" miss the point. The software shouldn't exist at all, because the policies shouldn't exist. Saying "oh well let's point out the security flaws" of the thing-that-shouldn't-exist only helps it to continue existing.

@henryk It needs to die! The entire idea is absurd!
-
@Allyn@mastodon.ie 2026-04-17 20:01
@henryk I mean, if you’re going to try to organise people - wouldn’t it be better to organise them to contact their local representatives and make their grievances felt ahead of time? I get what you’re doing but the fight has just begun, it’s not over yet.

@henryk huh, sounds like a use for nn AI agents flooding commits with crap.

@henryk Get some idiot vibe coder on the inside to add their distinctive flare 😉

@bhtooefr@snack.social 2026-04-17 21:29
@henryk …maybe actually go blackhat with it and sell the vulns you find, so that people get pwned and realize how bad of an idea it is to comply the hard way

@archivescribe@mastodon.social 2026-04-17 21:31
@henryk Burn it all down.

@henryk for what it's worth, contact page for the EU data protection officer: https://www.edps.europa.eu/about/data-protection-within-edps/data-protection-officer-edps_en I sent a complaint about the concept of strict age verification and I suggest others do as well. (helpful arguments that i saw, are attached)

@henryk not doing responsible disclosure sounds like the nuclear option for anyone from the CCC environment. This is but an inch from hackback :blobcatgiggle: Can't say I disagree though.

@henryk I don't think that's a good idea. The European Parliament isn't perfect, but it is a democracy. Many there are making a genuine effort to become more independent from US corporations. It´s our choice how to cooperate and participate, as long as we have one. If you think it´s a bad Idea - tell us why and how it could be done better.

@henryk I support this message 💯 Percent.

@henryk Additionally I propose lackluster compliance. Need to implement this? Just make the check set a cookie with above18=true. Leave some obscure undocumented escape hatch intended as a debug feature. See section 5.b.11 of the simple sabotage manual.

@ck0@tech.lgbt 2026-04-19 07:58
@henryk We already have this with microsoft, and companies still spend millions to them.

@alex_mastodon@troet.cafe 2026-04-21 07:39
@henryk So you suggest we remain dependent on the age verification and restriction tools by Google, Meta and Apple? @Rene_M_G
